Greg Rutherford, aged 37, has finally revealed the specifics of his severe injury sustained during his time on Dancing On Ice. Paired with Vanessa James on the ITV program, the former athlete had to withdraw from the final earlier this month due to an injury sustained during rehearsal.
After being rushed to the hospital, Greg’s partner Vanessa shared the heartbreaking announcement on Instagram that they had to withdraw from the competition. The retired athlete has now disclosed the details of the incident, explaining that he slid between the legs of Brendyn Hatfield and Colin Grafton, resulting in torn abdominal muscles. Prior to undergoing surgery, Greg stated, “I’ve been quite occupied with recovering from the initial injury before I can undergo surgery, so I haven’t had the chance to discuss it. In short, I jumped through Brendyn and Colin’s legs and ended up tearing all of my abdominal muscles and herniating.”
